Sam and Max

Posted by J Chris in Plugs

They’re finally back! Steve Purcell’s kooky anthromorphic detectives have a new video game. Telltale Games will be releasing it in 6 episodes. Episode 1: Culture Shock is available. Looks and sounds pretty niffty, unfortunately it’s only for PC.

They’ve loaded the site up with all sorts of goodies. You can make your own Sam and Max comic strip, like mine. Make sure you also check out the killer watercolory interactive online comic strip by Steve Purcell. You might as well take a lookey at Graham Annable’s comic Dank: The Caveman Inventor. Then shoot over to the store and buy me a copy of Sam & Max sketchbook called The Age of S&M.

One of you comic publishers needs to reprint the Sam & Max collection. Do it, mine is falling apart!

Can’t get enough Sam & Max, well then jot on over to the Sam & Max Unofficial Website.

Duct Tape Billfold

Posted by J Chris in Art, Design, JCC

Every Thanksgiving Day after all the eating is over, my mom has a little project for us to do. We’ve made miniature snow globes, altered journals and snowmen out of light bulbs.

This year we made Duct Tape Billfolds! Real, functioning billfolds with pockets for your credit cards and money. Some even had clear plastic for your photo idea. We even had several snazzy colors to choose from. It was pretty fun even if we are a couple of years behind the times.

I tricked mine out with a little pin striping of white and blue duct tape.

Puppet Up!

Posted by J Chris in Plugs

So Monday night at 11 on TBS I caught the first episode of “The Jim Henson Company’s Puppet Up!

It’s basically “Whose Line is it Anyway” done with puppets. Confused? Well check out the clip over at www.puppetup.com

Sketchbook Looky

Posted by J Chris in Art, JCC

Yes I have a sketchbook! I can draw with non-mousey-clicks. No. Really I can, just not very well.
Recently I had to buy a new one and I like to use a square one. But the store I get them from stopped getting them. So I had to special order a couple so I wouldn’t be scrambling again.
Anyway, most of my drawings are usually just random headshots. I try and push myself to make entire bodies. But usually they just end up standing around yelling, running from nothing or holding coffee cups/laser guns.

Every now or then I’ll force myself to draw a scene.

Even more rare, I actually use some color!

New Phone

Posted by J Chris in JCC

After a bazillion some years, I finally had to get a new phone. So I went all the way and got the new Motorola MOTOKRZR K1m.

Motorola MOTOKRZR K1m

I’m totally out of the loop on phone tech, but I’ve heard people mention the Razor enough (who hasn’t) so I started looking into it. I dug the design and when they released the new slimmer version with an MP3 player I jumped.

I put all my contacts in and it’s got a really nice voice recognition system. You don’t have to prerecord all your contact names, which is ultra cool.

Unfortunately my Mac doesn’t support the phone yet, so I can’t sync it up. Which is cool cause I haven’t bought the larger memory chip. The mp3 player seems to be pretty neat and I can’t wait to get some good songs on there.

It takes forever to boot up, and the keypad seems to have a short in it or something cause it doesn’t always do what I tell it and the lights flicker when I push up on the nav.

Not having a photo phone before I have some difficulty figuring out the controls for taking pics. Apparently you can also take video, but I haven’t figured that out yet. But I really haven’t given it a good try.

Hellvember

Posted by J Chris in 01-Illustration, Low Down

Usually my Novembers are pretty crappy. All through my life I’ve always dreaded this month. Usually something crappy happens to me or my family so I just don’t look forward to it. Maybe this time it’ll be less crappy, since a ton of crappy stuff has already happened this year. Crappy.
