The best thing about Shrek the Third was the preview for the new live action Transformers movie for July 4th.
Optimus Prime - Transformers

I’ve purposely stayed away from any pictures or information about the movie. So when the preview came on, I unexpectedly got giddy when Shia LaBeouf runs his fingers across the Autobot logo on the wheel of his new used car (Bumblebee isn’t a beetle [bad choice] and mega-tron isn’t a floating gun [good choice]). I wanted to look away and save it for the movie but I just had to watch.

Bumblebee from the transformers movie

It’s directed by Michael Bay (The Island, Pearl Harbor, Armageddon, The Rock). So I know it’s going to be high on action and most likely cheese. And after looking at all the writers, producers and editors I can pretty much say the special effects should be amazing. But it’s going to be choppy both visually and plot wise and pretty void of decent dialogue. But the trailer was super ultra cool. And the new bot designs are pretty neat if you are into that Gundam look.

When you asked me at ACE if I had read Superior Showcase #0 you failed to mention you were in it. I was fortunate enough to get my hot little hands on the Adhouse FCBD issues recently and got to catch your work in it and the Preposterous Voyages of IronHide Tom. Good stuff. Now all I have to do is get my grubby mitts on Project: Superior.

I also half expected you to throw a hat in the old Fist-A-Cuffs ring after we talked about Priddy’s previous entry. You definitely have the strong design skills for it. I could always try to work some angles and get you up against my character for an easy entry win. Regardless, keep up the good work.

The Apple Dumpler was in SS#0 and also in Project:Superior. Good luck finding it, much less affording it once you do find it. I should have sat on every copy I could get my hands on. I’ve posted 3 pages from PS in the comics section.

Fist-A-Cuffs would be fun to be a part of. But I’d get tied up in it and waste a lot of time. Kind of like Joel does. He should be working on comics!! Anyway, hope you make it all the way!

You know… Those TRANSFORMERS action sequences look reasonably cool, but there’s really no getting around the fact that it’s a film about robots that turn into cars.

Allow me to repeat that: it’s about ROBOTS that turn into CARS.

    Maybe it’s a generational thing…

Hey, they change in to planes, and tanks and trucks also!
