I’m super pumped about Free Comic Book Day this year. Looking forward to rocking out some sketches for all the nice people stopping by Richard’s Comics and Collectables. Come on out and get some free comics and some fantastic sketches by local artists.

SAM the Robot

A few years ago I searched for information or video for Sam the Robot and came up empty handed. But just give the internet time and it’ll dig up anything. I was thumbing thru an old Sesame Street treasurey book and saw a Sam the Robot story. Which reminded me to ask the internet about old Super Automatic Machine (S.A.M.) and so I found a really nice clip. Dig that Coon Tail hanging from his antenna.

Sam didn’t make it very long on Sesame Street and he only appeared a handful of times. But I remember well and always watched hoping he would show up.

They’ve since introduced a new robot called Rico.

Here he is as the Season Robot 3000.

I don’t really like the look of the new robot but I’d much rather see him than no robot at all. I’m sure soon enough he’ll become obsolete just like SAM.

Gearing up for SPX my good pal Rob Ullman (whom I’ll be squatting with at SPX) and I have decided to post every day until SPX. Blogging from Zero to 60 should be fun. Let’s see if I can do it!

Hopefully I’ll be bringing some new Neatobot Toys with me. This one was started about a year ago.

I’ll have a new mini-comic for FLUKE on April 12,2008. It’s called 26 robots and it’s a full color collection of robots in alpabetical order. Drop me a line if you can’t make it to FLUKE and you’d like a copy. Not sure of the price right now but I’ll let you know ASAP.
