J Chris Campbell Illustrations Receives 2012 Best of Greenville Award

So the other day I got an e-mail informing me that I have won an award!

“Our selection of your company is a reflection of the hard work of not only yourself, but of many people that have supported your business and contributed to the subsequent success of your organization. Congratulations on joining such an elite group of small businesses.”

There was of course a link to where I could go and purchase my award and a press release that I could use to notify everyone of my achievement.

Greenville Award Program Honors the Achievement

GREENVILLE November 13, 2012 — J Chris Campbell Illustrations has been selected for the 2012 Best of Greenville Award in the Graphic Arts & Related Design category by the Greenville Award Program.

Each year, the Greenville Award Program identifies companies that we believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and our community. These exceptional companies help make the Greenville area a great place to live, work and play.

Various sources of information were gathered and analyzed to choose the winners in each category. The 2012 Greenville Award Program focuses on quality, not quantity. Winners are determined based on the information gathered both internally by the Greenville Award Program and data provided by third parties.

This is by far one of the most sophisticated e-mail sales techniques I’ve ever seen. I wonder what they’ll come up with in the near future? Until then I’ll just enjoy my award in the virtual realm.

Monkey Love

I use MailChimp for my e-mail news and I’m pretty happy with it. I love the design, humor and simplicity of it. I’m also pretty happy with the freeness of it. You can have up to 500 subscribers and send them mail 6 times a month for free! It’s a pretty fantastic resource and I recommend it over Constant Contact. So if you’re looking for a better way to manage your e-mail news MailChimp is the way to go.

They’ve recently added all sorts of social networking options that allow you to Tweet and FB your e-news at the same time you send it out. There are all sort of other options that you can utilize also. Like the WordPress widget that allows people to sign up from your home page. I just installed mine in the sidebar —->>>>>

Colt 45 Can Design

I got an e-mail from Jim Mafood about his Colt 45 cans that are available and that they are having an ink the can contest. I’ve been wanting to do the Pepsi can for a while but couldn’t get motivated. After thinking about the Colt 45 for a little I couldn’t resists getting in on the fun. So go vote for my can!

Live the random.

The next time you’re banging your head against the wall trying to force out an advertising concept, why not stop by The Ad Generator website? Just sit back and watch as it creates one of a kind advertising where “Words and semantic structures from real corporate slogans are remixed and randomized to generate invented slogans.” The slogans are then matched with photos from Flickr resulting in some pretty nice ads. I created these by watching the generator so behold the power of experience. Of course I like the more humorous ones.
