Photostration

Photostration

For a while I was really into doing photo illustration. This was one of my favorites that I did for Creative Loafing.

  1. Photostration is my federal trademark since 1971 and is not in the public domain. I would ask you to respect my trademark and not illegally use it as their own as you are doing. Take this seriously please, you would not like this done to you. Thank you. Eileen Ferrone Roth

    Eileen,
Thanks for letting me know. I think I remember you saying something about that before. I’m not using it as a trademark just as the title of the post. I’ll make sure to stay away from using it in that way in the future. Anyone reading this post please make sure to visit Eileen’s website link to see what Photostration really is because I would not in anyway want it to be associated with myself.
    Thanks,
    J Chris

Other people’s crap art aside, I loved the work you did with scans and photographs. I remember that ancient computer you had, and the fun times we had troubleshooting the damn thing.

Dude, I’ve yet to back up all the files from that machine. I’ll just turn it on and swipe what I need off of it now and then. Thanks to you for installing the network card. 😀

  5. Hi Chris,
Thank you for your undserstanding. i may have been a bit harsh with you. i have been having a time trying to defend my trademark lately, the internet has made it so easy for others to copy and infringe it can be quit maddening. Good luck with your endevours.Wish you well.

  6. Eileen attacked us as well. Apparently we were trying to ride off her extremely successful coat-tails by using her trademarked name “Photostration” and we much now call our simple hybrid of photography and illustration Fotostration. It’s best to not be confused in the end for all involved anyhow…here’s ours:

I can see how she’d be worried someone may confuse the two companies.
